Tissue Box Cover
Abbreviations:
Ch = chain

Mickey Tissue Box Cover
This cover will fit over any standard square tissue box.

Materials:
Worsted weight yarn in black, yellow and red
Size H crochet hook

Cover
Round 1: Ch 18 and close with a sl st into the first ch of the ring.
Round 2: Ch 3, dc five times into the ring, ch 2, (dc 6 times, ch 2) repeat parenthesis 2 more
times. Sl st into the top of the ch 3 to join.
Round 3: Ch 3, dc in each of the next 5 sts, 2 dc’s into ch 2 sp, ch 2, 2 more dc’s into same
ch 2 space. (Dc in next 6 sts, 2 dc’s into ch 2 sp, ch 2, 2 more dc’s in same ch
2 sp). Repeat parenthesis 2 more times. Slip stitch to top of ch 3 to join.
Round 4: Ch 3, dc in next 7 sts, 2 dc’s in ch 2sp, ch 2, 2 more dc’s into same ch 2 space, (dc in
next 10 sts, 2 dc’s in ch 2 space, ch 2, 2 more dc’s in same ch 2 space) repeat parenthesis 2
more times, dc in next 2 dc’s. Sl st to top of ch 3 to join.
Round 5: Ch3, dc in each dc and chain st around. Sl st to top of ch 3 to join.
Rounds 6-9: repeat row 5 *Tie off black yarn and slip stitch with red yarn to join.
Rounds 10 -14: Ch 3, dc in each dc to the end of round. Sl st to top of ch 3 to join.
Round 15: Ch 1, sc in each st. Sl st to top of ch 1 to join.
Tie off and weave in ends.
Ears (Make 2)
With black yarn
Round 1: Ch 3, 8 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. Sl st to top of chain 3 to join round. (9 hdc total)
Round 2: Ch 2, hdc in same stitch as ch 2, 2 dc in next stitch and in each stitch around. Sl st to
top of ch 2 to join. (18 hdc total)
Round 3: Ch 2, hdc in same stitch as ch 2, 1 hdc in next stitch. (2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc in
following stitch) repeat 6 times. 2 hdc in last stitch, slip stitch to top of ch 2 to join. (27 hdc
total)
Round 4: Ch 2, hdc in same stitch as ch 2, 1 hdc in next 2 stitches. (2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc in
next 2 stitches) repeat 7 times. Sl st to top of ch 2 to join. (36 hdc total)
Round 5: Ch 2, hdc in same stitch as ch 2, 1 hdc in next 3 stitches. ( 2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc in
next 3 stitches) repeat 7 times. Sl st to top of ch 2 to join. (45 hdc total)
Tie off leaving a 6 inch tail. Using the 6 inch tail and needle, sew the ears onto the top of the
cover on either side of the opening.
Buttons (Make 2)
With yellow yarn
*Note: The first ch 1 closest to your hook does not count as the first stitch.
Round 1: Ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next 2 chains, 5 sc in last chain. Rotate work 180
degrees and begin working up the opposite side of the chain. Sc in next 2 chain spaces, 3 sc in
last chain space. Sl st to top of 1st sc to join the round. (13 sc total)
Round 2: Ch 1, slip stitch in next stitch and in each stitch around. Sl st to top of ch 1 to join. (13
sl st total)
Tie off leaving a 6 inch tail. Using the tail and a yarn needle, sew the buttons onto the front
center of the red portion of the cover. Finish by weaving in any loose ends.
Toilet Paper Cover
This cover will fit any standard size toilet paper roll.

Size H crochet hook (ears and buttons)

With black yarn and size I hook
Round 1: Ch 3, 8 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. Sl st to top of chain to join round. (9 hdc total)
Round 2: Ch 2, hdc in same stitch as ch 2, 2 dc in next stitch and in each stitch around. Sl st to
top of ch 2 to join. (18 hdc total)

total) Round 7: This round is worked in the back loops only. This row creates the ridge at the edge of
the top of the toilet paper roll. Ch 1, sc in next stitch and in each stitch around. Sl st to top of ch
1 to join. (45 sc total)
Round 8-12: You will now be working down the sides of the toilet paper roll. The rest of the
pattern is worked through both loops as normal. Ch 2, hdc in next st and in each stitch around.
Sl st to top of ch 2 to join. (45 hdc total). Tie off black yarn. Slip stitch with red yarn to join
Round 13-17: Ch 2, hdc in next stitch and in each stitch around. Sl st to top of ch 2 to join. (45
hdc total)
Round 18: Ch 1, sc in next stitch and in each stitch around. Sl st to ch 1 to join. (45 sc total)
Tie off red yarn.
